Monday, April 19th, 2010I have two xbox’s( one for me and one for my brother), a wireless laptop and a wireless router(AOL 8MB BROADBAND) connected to a main computer downstairs. i have wireless adapters on each xbox and i keep getting signed out of xbox live, and lagging. Saturday, April 17th, 2010I currently live in the UK. I have 8mb broadband with Orange. I have been trying to check what speed my internet is really running at but each website seems to give a different reading between 1 and 2 mb. Which would be the best web site to get a free accurate reading of my internet speed. Thanks.
Also has anybody tried the internet optimizer programmes that you can get and do they really make a difference?
ADSL Broadband Speed, Line capable of 2mb with 8mb provider, will I get 4mb on 16mb?
Friday, April 16th, 2010Basically, my line is capable of 2mb and this is the limiting factor of broadband speed, I know this as fact. If I take a connection with a new provider offering up to 16mb, will the way data is sent mean that my speed will increase, or is my line still only capable of 2mb, so I won’t notice any benefit?
My current provider offers 8mb, but I only get 2mb due to the quality of line and distance from exchange.
Theoretically if my line is only capable of 2mb, I would get 2mb with any ADSL provider, or does the way the data is transmitted change to allow me to notice an increase?
